golden opportunities

in keeping with the spirit of the season, okkervil river has offered up a free mixtape entitled golden opportunities over at their website...the album consists of live takes on eight cover songs & one original (the timely "listening to otis redding at home during christmas") recorded on the road over the past two years...my favorite track is easily the version of john phillip's "april anne" taken from their daytrotter session last month...that song is so good...there's also material from randy newman, joni mitchell, & serge gainsbourg, among others...& don't forget to download the printable artwork & liner notes (in your choice of christmas or hanukkah colors)...thanks okkervil river.
