frightened rabbit

if you missed frightened rabbit at double door last night, don't make the same mistake when they play the do division street fest this weekend...the scottish outfit's recent album, the midnight organ fight, really crept up on me over the past month or so, with their somewhat familiar, yet distinctive brand of indie rock...the lyrics seem almost desperate, while the music is actually quite uplifting...these guys are gaining steam, so don't sleep on 'em...they play sunday at four, followed by the 1900s & eventually ted leo...lucero headlines on saturday...& it's all free.

related: one of my old college buddy's brother shot & edited a great video of frightened rabbit for woxy.com about a month ago...the dude's mad talented & also handled the recent okkervil river session over there as well...you can watch both those videos, plus others, at his site, soft city lights, which is definitely worth checking out...also, you can download the entire okkervil river set here, which includes this great new track, which will be featured on the band's upcoming album when it arrives in september.
