i've always liked lambchop & their lush, laid-back mix of smooth country & soul, but i seldom find myself reaching for their albums...& when i do, it's almost always nixon...that might explain why it took me a few weeks to put on this new one...as soon as i did, though, i was reminded of the understated intricacies that make kurt wagner & co. so different from everyone else...there's a quiet elegance that keeps you relaxed & engaged all at once, & it's really hitting the spot right now...the album cover's pretty fantastic too.
