once again, thanks to aquarium drunkard for the heads up on vetiver's new ep, which is a continuation of the band's fantastic covers album, thing of the past, from earlier this year & features songs originally sung by folks like the everly brothers, jimmy martin, & this beauty from nils lofgren...vetiver has a new record of originals due out in february & will be in town on december 5th, supporting the black crowes.

unrelated: after a short stint working with neil young & crazy horse (& about a decade before joining the e street band), nils lofgren fronted the rootsy power pop band, grin, who put out four albums between 1971 & 1974...i've been in searching online for their self-titeld debut (which features a guest spot from neil) for a while now, but keep coming up empty, so i thought i'd put out a little feeler before dropping $30 on the import...if anyone out there has the hookup, i'd be very grateful...in the meantime here are a couple tracks from the band's excellent follow up, 1+1.
