i was lucky enough to catch andrew bird 94 floors up about two weeks ago, performing solo in the john hancock observatory...it was pretty fucking awesome...as is his new album, which may be his most accessible release to date, at least musically...& while i've been listening to it constantly, & really enjoying it, i haven't got a clue what the dude's singing about...i mean it sounds great, it's just over my head...& too make matters worse, even after reading his own explanations of the songs i still don't get them (although it does make me feel a little better that even andrew bird doesn't quite know what "souverian" is about)...oh well, whatever he's trying to say, i dig it...& the other disc is instrumental, so, that's cool.
