i'm really enjoying je suis france's new album, afrikan majik...it's kind of all over the place, opening with a pretty heavy 16 minute krautrock space jam, which is awesome, then shifting between different kinds of psychedelic, synth, garage & folk rock throughout the rest of the album...each song sounds different, which may be why i've seen them compared to so many different bands (ween, the flaming lips, devo, pavement, can, etc), but the different styles seem to work together...the catchiest tune on the album is "that don't work that well for us"...it could be a little longer, but on the album it transitions into a kraftwerk-like outro, so you don't really notice...on it's own though, you sort of want it to keep going.
