mavis staples is playing the chicago symphony center tonight in support of her new album, we'll never turn back...the album is fantastic, full of rootsy gospel & blues straight out of the civil rights era, with messages that unfortunately remain pretty relavent today...with her rich, raspy voice & passionate delivery, she is one of my absolute favorite singers & completely incomparable...the blind boys of alabama are opening...here's her take on the traditional "turn me around" off the new album, as well as the curtis mayfield penned "i want to thank you" off one of my favorite staple singers albums, let's do it again.download: mavis staples - turn me around
