just got back from a beautiful week in michigan….it was so relaxing, in fact, that i completely forgot about all the great live music i missed while i was away…i’m guessing dave didn’t post anything about the pitchfork festival because he didn’t want to rub it in…actually, it wasn’t until i received an email from michelle this morning & found out that talib kweli & hi tek showed up unannounced to perform with mos def at the free “live at the bbq” show here yesterday (along with bilal, little brother & qualo) that i remembered why it’s never a good idea to leave this city for too long during the summer…& i’m pretty sure michelle was trying to rub it in…anyways, i had a great time last week & an even better time at the wedding beforehand…it was cool seeing everyone & congratulations to john & liz…here’s the first song they danced to, an outtake from the all things must pass sessions, nice choice..
