weekend hotnessness

on top of the ghostface & dante carfagna shows that dave mentioned, there's a lot going on in the city this weekend...most notably, wicker park fest, with centro-matic, catfish haven, man man & prefuse 73 personally standing out on saturday, as well as the dirty dozen brass band higlighting sunday...the headhunters featuring robert walter & fred wesley will be playing the double door after the fest on saturday night, & having seen them the past few times they've come around, let me say this will be one of the best performances of the weekend...led zeppelin cover band, bustle in your hedgerow, featuring the beneveto/russo duo, plus ween drummer, dave dreiwitz, fill the late spot sunday...analog giant is serving up some prefuse 73, eliot lipp & future rock in preperation for the fest as well.

if that's not enough for you, one of dg's up & comers, vampire weekend, are playing the empty bottle on friday night with walter meego...irish singer-songwriter & recent mercury prize finalist, fionn regan, is playing an early show at schubas on saturday...& blitzen trapper, who's latest album i've been thoroughly enjoying, is playing with big buildings at the empty bottle later that night...if you're really desperate, you can always check out one of the other street fests going on this weekend, summer on southport or taste of lincoln avenue, where little feat happen to be playing saturday night...seriously...or you can join me & a bunch of 50-year-old dudes in tour shirts & topsiders down at toyota park all day saturday...yeah!
