i was hoping to catch spoon tonight at the petrillo music shell in grant park...that way i could skip them at lollapalooza on saturday in favor of patti smith & not feel so bad...because of the venue, i assumed tonight's show would be free & open to the public, but apparently it's part of the galapalooza fundraiser event, with single ticket prices at $350...so it looks like i'll have a difficult decision to make come saturday...other lollapalooza scheduling conflicts include femi kuti vs. lcd soundsystem, the roots vs. clap your hands say yeah, white rabbits vs. getting up that early, david vandervelde vs. dios vs. heartless bastards vs. rodrigo y gabriela, the stooges vs. kings of leon, & my morning jacket vs. modest mouse...i guess it's all about crowd control. .

I suggest seeing my morning jacket instead of modest mouse...last year it was racountours vs. jacket, which caused a similar conflict. They are so great!
