who needs lollapalooza?

if you can't handle the crowd, heat & price of lollapalooza (who can blame you), there's still a lot of good music to see in chicago this weekend...tonight, you've got your pick of roky erickson at the abbey pub, the heartless bastards at the empty bottle, ghostland observatory at schubas, sound tribe sector 9 at the house of blues, or clap your hands say yeah, cold war kids, & elvis perkins at the metro...tommorow, southeast engine (above) will be at south union arts, illinois is opening for david vandervelde & the black angels at schubas, white rabbits are playing the empty bottle with the cribs, lupe fiasco & m.i.a. are at the house of blues & the ponys play a private party with ted leo & chin up chin up at the double door...of course, if you are going to lollapalooza, you can catch pretty much all those bands there as well.

Go see Southest Engine! They are great and my friend Leo is the drummer.
