skinny dipping in a sea of lee

lee fields & the expressions "honey dove" was easily one of my favorite songs released last year, even though it was actually first released in 2002 & sounds like it could have been released much earlier (like 40 years earlier)...anyways, i first heard it last year on truth & soul's fallen off the reel compilation & after reading last week on soul sides that the same label will be releasing the many moods of lee fields lp in early october, i thought it would be a good time to post a couple tracks...like sharon jones, fields is making new funk & soul music that sounds just as good as old funk & soul music & deserves just as much attention..."my world" was released as a 7" single earlier this summer, with "love comes and goes" as the b-side...both songs will be featured on the upcoming album.

second lee: beck may be catching some hype for releasing the digital single "timebomb" a couple weeks ago, but i prefer his take on the late lee hazlewood's "forget marie" which is currently streaming at his website.
